Contents: Part I - letters (8) 1849-1851, to his mother and stepfather, Dr. & Mrs. J.L. Hornsby in Louisiana, concerning his activities as delegate to the California Constitutional Convention, legal practice with John B. Weller and business ventures. With these: California Supreme Court license, 1850, signed by Eugene H. Tharp, Clerk; copy of letter from Peter H. Burnett to the Whig, Jan. 1, 1852, describing deathbed interview with Jones; Jones obituary notice; abstract of his will; copy of demit from Masonic Lodge in Louisiana; passenger list of steamer Falcon on which Jones was a passenger from New Orleans to Chagres (14 folders in Part I)

Part III - correspondence between T.W. Norris, Helen E.W. Hannason (Mrs. C.K.) and Herbert I. Priestley, to which has been added correspondence from the Bancroft Library files with W.C. Arbuckle, Mark A. Sawrie and Guy J. Giffen, concerning disposal of the papers and Jones' death, will and Masonic affiliation.
